JETS WIN
What a game and what a turnout by our Atlanta Jets Fans. I stopped counting at 170 but there were still Jets fans pouring into the other side of the bar so 200 is a conservative guess. Thank you all for coming out to support the club and lets keep spreading the word so that we can fill the entire bar with green and white on February 7th (you know what game that is). Special thanks to those of you that shared your tables and allowed us to squeeze in as many people as possible. We will have both sides of the bar next week so there will plenty of seating for everyone.
Q100
We got surprise publicity from Q100 last week when Bert of the Bert Show mentioned he was looking for a Jets fan bar to go watch the game on Sunday. Some of you immediately called the show and let Atlanta know that Mazzys is the ONLY place to come and watch the games on Sundays. Bert is a Chargers fan and was only trying some reverse karma in rooting for the Jets (epic fail by the way). Bert didn’t come to Mazzys but we got a bunch of new Atlanta Jets Fans because of it so thanks to Q100.
Sports Radio
As you can guess we’re not going to get any respect from Atlanta Sports Radio so be sure to call in and set the record straight… DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS.
Sneak in a plug for the club if you can
Sunday 3:00 PM
Now we get a rematch with Indy. Mazzys will be open at noon. I’m going to try to find a DVD of the Jets/Colts from Superbowl III to entertain those of you who come early. There are a few people from the club who are making the trip to Indy so if you want to meet up or want some information on how to attend the game let me know.
See you on Sunday and as always,

Jets vs Colts — Great Game and Great Turnout at Mazzy’s today.
If you watched any of the sports shows last night I’m sure you saw plenty of “experts” saying the Colts gave the game to the Jets. Its a shame that not one of these so called experts is saying wait a minute, it was 15-10 when Manning left the game. Its not like the Colts were shutting out the Jets. There is a chance the Jets would have won the game with Manning in the game. But no, we don’t get that kind of respect.
A Win and We’re In!!!! Jets/Bengals at 8:00 in Week17
The game has been flexed until 8:00 PM and I know this makes it harder for some of you but we hope you come out and watch the game at Mazzy’s with your Atlanta Jets Fan family. We had a great turnout last night and we sounded like a playoff crowd when Brad Smith scored on the kick return. A win against Cincinnati and we make the playoffs and most likely play the Bengals again in the first round of the playoffs.
Go Jets and see you at Mazzy’s

Thanks to the support of Mazzy’s I am pleased to announce the first annual Atlanta Jets Fans Appreciation Day will be held this Sunday from 12:30 until 4:00. To celebrate Mazzy’s will offer food and drink specials beyond the normal discounts they give us. We will be giving away some free t-shirts from some of the beer and drink vendors and we’ll have some Jets merchandise as well.
No coincidence that we chose the Atlanta/Jets game to be this years Appreciation day. It will be quite the battle both on the field and at Mazzy’s!! This is one of the biggest games of our season so come out and watch with your Jets family.
Also starting this Sunday we will begin holding a weekly 50/50 raffle where you will be able to buy raffle tickets and win money and support the Jets club. Look for more details on Sunday.
See you at Mazzy’s and as always J…E…T…S… JETS JETS JETS

Jets/Tampa Trip
A few of us are driving down for the Jets/Tampa game this weekend. Does anyone else want to make the trip. The hotel is relatively inexpensive ($110 per night) and the tickets to the game should be cheap as well (scalping outside). We have one member of our group who wants to go but needs a ride so if you’re looking for a travel companion look no further.

If you’re not on this list and you’re going let me know and you can meet up with us Saturday night. We are meeting a bar called Peabodys at 5:00 PM on Saturday http://www.jets-fan.com/happy-hour.html
On Sunday we are going to tailgate with the Tampa Bay Jets club. Its $35 and includes
- BBQ Chicken & Premium Pork Ribs, Baked Beans, Coleslaw
- Black Angus Hamburgers & All Beef Hotdogs
- Pasta Bar - Marinara and Alfredo Sauces / Meatballs
- Taco Bar - Hard and Soft Shells
- Seven Layer Grande Nacho Dip and Tortilla Chips
- Hand-Dipped Italian Ice
- All You can drink Bud and Bud Light Draft Beer, Soda, and Water
For those of you staying in Atlanta
Mazzys will of course have the game on in our usual spot. Please come out on gameday to support the club. Mazzys offers us the best spot with great service and they do that because we bring in a great crowd week in and week out. When people don’t come out it makes it difficult for them to do that. In weeks 1-6 we had crowds of 100+ each week. Since then we’re down in the high 50’s each week. I know its difficult during the holidays and even harder when we’re not winning each week but please try to support us.
Thanks and as always, Go Jets

Miami Game
Another great turnout last week despite the unfortunate result. Just a reminder Mazzys will be showing the Jets/Dolphins game throughout the bar on Monday. We will set up on our regular side so look for us on the right side of the bar. Do we have any Atlanta Jets Fans members going to the game on Monday? I am in Florida with my wife and will be going to the game on Monday, please drop me a line if you’re down here and maybe we can meet up before the game.
Tampa Trip
Tickets!!!
We have some preliminary details for the Jets/Tampa trip. We have been offered tickets through the group sales office. Prices seem ok but the reality is that by the time the game comes around Tampa will be a 1 or 2 win team and tickets will be dirt cheap on the secondary market (ebay, stubhub). This will not be so great as far as sitting together so I’d like to know how important that is to all of you who are making the trip. Here are the ticket prices offered by the Bucs ticket office.

Tailgate
We are still planning on an all inclusive tailgate with the Tampa Bay Jets Club but we do not have any details for that yet.
Hotel
We are working to see where the Jets will be staying and getting a group rate for that hotel. This will be set up by 11/1.
Transportation
There doesn’t seem to be enough interest in a bus to take us to Tampa and back but we will provide a list of people who want to share a ride. Hopefully we can get 4-5 per car and make it as cheap as possible
Sign Up
Many of you have emailed me telling me you are interested in joining us in Tampa. To reserve your spot for the tailgate and inclusion on any hotel/ticket deals you must provide a $20 non refundable deposit. Your deposit will count towards the tailgate price, or ticket price, or hotel price, whatever you want to participate in. I will be collecting the deposit each week between 10/17 and 11/15.
See you at Mazzys

These are NOT the “Same Old Jets”
last season my wife and I had the umm ”pleasure” of going up to New York for the opener against the Patriots, and sat 2 rows behind the Patriots. As the last seconds ticked off of the clock some of the Patriots started to taunt the crowd yelling “Same Old Jets”. If you’ve watched the last 2 weeks you know that the 2009 Jets are anything but the “Same Old Jets” and I’m SURE that the Patriots feel the same way. I’m not ready to run out and buy Superbowl tickets but I can say without a doubt that there shouldnt be a single game this season we can’t win and will fight hard week in and week out.
These are also NOT the “Same Atlanta Jets Fans”
Wow, That is about all I can say about the turnout over the past 2 weeks. Week 1 we had 95 and last week we set an all time Mazzys high of 110!! I thank everyone for their patience as we’ve worked the kinks out and been able to provide additional seating and adding an additional waitress to make sure the beer keeps flowing. Keep the support coming and make sure anytime you see someone walking around in a Jets t-shirt or a jersey spread the word about the Atlanta Jets Fan Club.
Also since many of you are new to the group if you have any questions, suggestions, complaints please let me know.
Follow AtlantaJetsFans on Facebook and Twitter
As part of our push to let the rest of Atlanta know we are here I have started a facebook fan page as well as an Atlanta Jets Fans twitter. To follow us on twitter visit http://twitter.com/AtlantaJetsFans, and http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=13701002316&ref=search&sid=1072794020.1300256938..1 on Facebook.
4:00 Games
Next week is our first 4:00 PM game and we ask that everyone be very patient as it could take a few minutes for the people who are sitting on our side for the 1:00 games to pay their checks and clear out for the 4:00 game. Be assured that anyone sitting on our side will be aware that they will need to relocate but again please be patient as it takes some time.
Tampa
Just a reminder that on December 13th we are putting together a road trip to Tampa for the Jets/Bucs game. If you are interested please email me at jets@atlantajetsfans.comand be sure to let me know whether you need assistance with tickets, accomodations, transportation.
See you later today as we face the Titans!

Greeting Jets fans!! Just a reminder that ALL Jets Preseason games will be shown at Mazzys this season beginning with Friday Nights game at 7:00 PM.
It wouldnt be a Jets preseason without a QB controversy so this preseason will be something to pay attention to. Will our defense be as dominant as we all hope it well?
We shall see. One thing for sure is at 7:00 Friday night we will all be able to watch NY Jets Football. See you all Friday.

I completely forgot that the NFL in its never ending quest to be as “PrimeTime” as possible moved the draft time to 4PM. Thanks Nick for reminding me.
So join us at 4PM at Mazzys on Saturday!!!!

2008 is dead and buried and that means we get to start all over again.
Come join us at Mazzys to watch the first and second rounds of the 2009 NFL Draft THIS SATURDAY.
What will we do with the #17 pick? QB? WR? Trade and move up to enter the Sanchez or Crabtree Sweepstakes? Trade the 17 in a package for a veteran WR ?
See you on Sunday at 12 Noon!!!!
